Galexis Construction — Houston General Contractor | Texas Strong, Houston Built
Licensed • Bonded • Insured — TX License #TACLA00042137C
Galexis Construction is a premier general contractor serving the Greater Houston area since 2013. Founded by Carlos Galexis — a University of Houston construction management graduate and former David Weekley Homes superintendent — after watching poorly built homes fail during Hurricane Ike. We've completed over 300 projects across Houston, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Pearland, Cypress, Tomball, and League City. Zero Galexis-built homes suffered structural envelope failure during Hurricane Beryl in 2024.
Our Services
Custom Home Construction
We build 15–20 custom homes per year across Greater Houston, from 2,400 sq ft starter homes in Pearland to 6,000+ sq ft estates in Sienna Plantation and Cinco Ranch. Every home starts with a geotechnical soil report — we won't pour on Houston's Beaumont Clay without one. Standard specs include hurricane-rated Andersen or PGT impact windows, Demilec closed-cell spray foam insulation (R-21 walls, R-38 attic), and Simpson Strong-Tie engineered roof-to-wall connections that exceed TWIA minimums by 15%. Typical timeline: 10–14 months from permit to certificate of occupancy.
Commercial Construction
Tenant improvements in the Energy Corridor, ground-up retail along Grand Parkway, medical office build-outs near the Texas Medical Center, and light industrial in northwest Houston. Capacity: 3,000 to 50,000 sq ft. We've held LEED Gold certification on three consecutive projects. ADA compliance, fire suppression, and phased occupancy coordination are standard scope items.
Hurricane-Resistant Building
Miami-Dade NOA-rated impact glass on every coastal-facing opening. Simpson Strong-Tie H2.5A hurricane clips at every rafter-to-top-plate connection. Class 4 impact-rated Atlas StormMaster Shake shingles or Berridge standing seam metal roofing from San Antonio. Our standard hurricane package exceeds TWIA certification requirements by approximately 15%. After Beryl, zero Galexis-built homes suffered structural envelope failure.
Energy-Efficient Homes
We build to HERS Index ratings of 45–55, compared to the code-minimum 100 — translating to 40–50% lower utility costs. Standard spec: Demilec closed-cell spray foam, Carrier Infinity 20 SEER2 variable-speed heat pumps, and Low-E² Cardinal glass. Our Creekside Park project in The Woodlands achieved net-zero energy usage within 12 months. The homeowner's annual electricity cost: $63 in grid fees.
Whole House Renovations
We gut and rebuild 8–12 existing homes per year, primarily in Houston Heights, Memorial, Bellaire, and West University Place. Most are 1960s–1980s ranch-styles needing open floor plans, 200A electrical panel upgrades, complete galvanized-to-PEX re-plumbing, and structural reinforcement for load-bearing wall removal.
Kitchen & Bath Remodeling
Projects from $35K galley-to-open-concept kitchen conversions to $120K+ primary suite overhauls. Custom cabinetry from Heritage Woodworks in Conroe. 47 quartz and natural stone slab options from MSI and Cambria. Average kitchen timeline: 6–8 weeks from demolition to final walk-through.
Roofing & Storm Damage Repair
24/7 emergency response with a standby crew of 12. Insurance claim management by Maria Santos — 12 years former USAA adjuster experience. 87% supplemental claim approval rate. Claims average 34% higher than homeowner-filed claims on identical damage. We work with State Farm, Allstate, USAA, Travelers, and Texas regional carriers.
Foundation Services
Houston sits on Beaumont Clay — highly expansive soil that shrinks in drought and swells in rain. We partner with Dawson Foundation Repair for remediation. All new foundations engineered with post-tension cable systems, moisture barriers, and drainage grading. 40+ foundation assessments performed annually. A geotechnical report costs $1,500–$2,500. Foundation failure costs $15,000–$80,000.

Client Testimonials
"We called Carlos at 6 AM the morning after Beryl took our roof. His crew had emergency tarps up by noon and a full tear-off scheduled within the week. Six months later, we have a better house than we started with — standing seam metal roof, impact windows throughout, and a Generac whole-home backup."
— James & Maria Torres, Cinco Ranch, Katy, TX (Full storm restoration + hardening)
"Our custom home came in two weeks ahead of schedule and $14K under budget. The team caught a drainage issue during excavation that would've caused foundation problems. The HERS rating came back at 47. Our electricity bill in July was $180 for a 4,600 square foot home."
— Dr. Patricia Nguyen, Telfair, Sugar Land, TX (4,600 sq ft custom home)
"We interviewed five contractors. Galexis was the only one who told us our foundation needed mudjacking before they'd touch the interior work. Every other contractor would've built on a sinking slab. That honesty earned them the job."
— Robert Chen, Creekside Park, The Woodlands, TX (Whole-home renovation + foundation repair)
